< PreviousAcknowledgements Warmly, Andriy Kharkovyy (BBA ’06, MBA ’09) Director, Office of Alumni Services Dear Andrews Family, We are thrilled to have the opportunity to welcome you back in person to our beautiful campus. The Andrews University grounds are especially picturesque with visitors enjoying them and it’s been a lonesome year with limit- ed visitors and students on our campus. As this new school year kicked off we were filled with joy to welcome larger groups of students as well as visitors. Whether you stop by Andrews frequently or this year is the first time in a while you have de- cided to join us, we thank you for coming to celebrate you, our alums! While the last two years have brought some challenges to all of us, we stand united in our efforts to celebrate and encourage quality Seventh-day Adventist Christian education and make it available to all those who wish to receive it across the globe. Andrews University is proud to support a strong community that came together and rallied around student needs over the past several semesters and we are thankful to each one of you for your prayers and support as well. We are very excited about the variety of events planned this week- end, both on campus as well as in the surrounding community. I am thankful to all of those who have contributed time and effort to make this 2021 Alumni Homecoming possible. From Andrews, Kit went on to serve as assistant editor of the Adventist Review for ten years, then as the first director of the La Sierra University Women’s Resource Center where she worked to make sure early and present Adventist women evangelists, chap- lains, ministers and conference leaders were known. Kit also spent a number of years as communication director for the Southeast- ern California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. She has had numerous articles, fea- tures, news stories and poems published in various Adventist periodicals and is the only woman to have served on all four of the church’s major commissions (in 1973, 1985, 1988 and 1989) dealing with women’s role in the church. A strong proponent of women’s ordination, Watts has also worked tirelessly to improve policies affecting Adventist wom- en employees across the board. Kit has been active in the Association of Adventist Women, editing “The Adventist Woman” from 1985–1987, and was a mem- ber of the founding committee of the Associ- ation of Seventh-day Adventist Librarians. She says, “I’m deeply touched (and greatly surprised) by the honor that Andrews University has chosen to share with me.” 2021 Honored Alumni continuedCampus Facilities ANDREWS UNIVERSITY BOOKSTORE—269-471-3287 Thursday: 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Friday: 9 a.m.–5 p.m. (extended hours for alumni) Closed Saturday and Sunday ANDREASEN CENTER FOR WELLNESS —269-471-6090 Thursday: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday: 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Day passes will be available for Andrews alumni to purchase at the Andreasen Center for Wellness front desk at a 50 percent discount rate during Sept. 23–26.
